How to split PDF

  1. Choose a PDF

Drop the PDF you want to split.

  2. Pick how to split

Choose page ranges, a fixed number of pages per file, or one file per page.

  3. Download

Get a single PDF, or a ZIP when the split creates several files.

About Split PDF

Writing page ranges

Separate pages with commas and use a dash for ranges. For example “1-3, 7, 10-12” creates a file with pages 1, 2, 3, 7, 10, 11 and 12. Turn on “One file per range” to get a separate PDF for each range instead.

Split vs. Extract pages

Use Split when you want to break a document into several files. Use Extract pages when you want to visually pick pages and save them as one new PDF.

Private by design

Your files never leave your device

Most online PDF sites upload your documents to their servers. DocuVault doesn’t. Everything happens inside your browser, so there is nothing for anyone to see, store or leak.

Check it yourself

Use a tool once, then turn off your Wi-Fi or switch to airplane mode and use it again — it still works. Developers can watch the Network tab: no file is ever sent.

  1. Step 1

    You choose a file

Your browser opens it directly from your device — like opening it in an app.

  2. Step 2

    Your device does the work

The processing code runs inside this browser tab. No server ever receives your file.

  3. Step 3

    You save the result

The new file goes straight to your downloads. Close the tab and everything is gone.

Frequently asked questions

Does splitting change my original file?

No. Your original stays untouched on your device. New files are created for the parts you choose.

How do I save every page as its own PDF?

Choose “Every page”. You’ll get a ZIP containing one PDF per page.

Why did I get a ZIP file?

When a split produces more than one PDF, they are bundled in a ZIP so you can download them in one go. Most phones and computers open ZIP files automatically.
