Privacy Policy

Summary
- Your files never leave your device. Every tool runs inside your web browser. We never receive, see or store the documents, images or text you process.
- We don’t have accounts, so we don’t hold your name, email or password.
- With your permission, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which tools are useful, and Google AdSense to show ads that keep DocuVault free. You can refuse or change this at any time.
Your files
When you choose a file, your browser reads it directly from your device into memory. The processing code (for example the PDF and text-recognition engines) is downloaded from our website and runs on your computer or phone. The result is created in your browser and saved straight to your device.
We do not upload, transmit, log or store your files, their names or their contents. Analytics events never include file names or contents — only things like which tool was used and an approximate file-size range (for example “1–5 MB”). Closing the tab clears everything from memory.
Text recognition languages: English is included with the site. If you choose another language, your browser downloads that language’s data file from the jsDelivr public CDN. Only the language file is requested; your image is not sent. jsDelivr can see your IP address, like any website you visit.
What we collect
Information stored on your device
We use your browser’s local storage to remember your light/dark theme and your cookie choices. This stays on your device and is not sent to us.
Server logs
Like any website, the servers that deliver our pages may briefly record technical information such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, for security and reliability. These logs never contain your files.
Analytics (only with your consent)
If you allow analytics, Google Analytics 4 collects usage information such as pages viewed, approximate location (country/city), device and browser type, and tool events (for example “a PDF was merged”). We have disabled Google signals and advertising features for analytics. Without consent, Google Analytics runs in a restricted mode that sets no cookies.
Third parties
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) — usage statistics, with consent.
- jsDelivr — delivers optional text-recognition language files.
- Our hosting provider — delivers the website’s pages and code.
We don’t sell personal information.
Your choices and rights
You can change your cookie choices at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, to object to processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because we don’t have accounts and never receive your files, we usually hold no personal information about you — but contact us and we’ll help.
Children
DocuVault is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
