Is DocuVault really free?

Yes. Every tool is free with no sign-up, no watermarks and no daily limits. DocuVault is supported by ads, and because your device does the processing, we don’t have expensive servers to pay for.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Files are opened and processed inside your web browser on your own device. They are never sent to our servers or anyone else’s, which is why DocuVault is safe for contracts, IDs, medical and financial documents.

Do I need to install anything?

No. DocuVault works in any modern browser — Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox and Samsung Internet — on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iPhone and iPad.

Does it work without an internet connection?

Yes, after your first visit. The tools are saved by your browser, so you can keep using them in airplane mode. Text recognition in languages other than English needs a one-time download of the language data.

Is there a file size limit?

There’s no fixed limit. Because your device does the work, the practical limit depends on its memory. Most computers and recent phones handle files of a few hundred megabytes.

Can I use DocuVault for work documents?

Yes. Because files aren’t uploaded, there’s no third party to vet and no data to leak. Always follow your organization’s policies for handling sensitive information.
